Organic farming in the Catskill Mountains of New York

Kate and Dan plan the lines of a new electric pen around their cattle. They move the cattle once a week to a new area of pasture, following a technique of "farming good grass" promoted by Virginia-based farmer Joel Salatin, a guru of sustainable livestock management. Ideally, the Marsiglios would like to install an elegant system of permanent fences and gates for this purpose. For now, they can afford to use temporary solar-powered fencing.
