Story Summary: What is a father and how does one become a better father? At Strive, a community-based center in East Harlem, counselors in the “Strong Fathers, Stronger Families” program of help fathers of all ages to answer these questions. Voluntarily, the men come to the workshops from many different backgrounds, but all with an interest in keeping the bonds between themselves and their families strong and transcending social stereotypes, from breadwinner to deadbeat dad. Here are portraits of some of the men who participated.
